Not long until our trip to the Hamilton Zoo! We have been exploring zoo animals, talking about if the animal has spots or stripes, if it has fur or skin, how many legs it has etc. We did some fantastic sketching on Monday of some zoo animals.
We worked hard to finish our Plum Tree! The children had sketched leaves, then we drew and cut out leaves for the tree. We are learning to look after our tree, and we are excited to see the little plums growing.
For our Oral language programme we are focusing on taking turns speaking and listening. We are learning to look at each other when we talk, to share speaking, and to remember what our friend has told us. These are essential skills children need to have in order to communicate effectively in the world.
Thursday afternoons we aim to be on Putikitiki with our buddy class Room This Thursday we went for a big walk right around the school, and then down to Putikitiki. We talked about what we saw, and then we got to use our big muscles and coordination on the playground. Some of us rolled down the big grassy hill.
The beginning of Term 4! This week we had a fun time learning some gymnastic moves in the hall. We walked on the beam, did a roll, and jumped on the big mats, two feet together.
